  • (1888PressRelease) June 28, 2016 - ACP member Kristen Moosmiller, CFP®, of Partnership Financial in Columbus, Ohio, was selected by InvestmentNews for its 2016 list of 40 Under 40. The magazine's annual list identifies top young advisors and associated professionals in the financial planning industry. The list is featured in the magazine's June 27 edition and recognizes Ms. Moosmiller "for a gutsy career change … from a large investment company where she managed more than 150 clients … to comprehensive planning services for 20 clients who pay her firm a retainer fee." Ms. Moosmiller, just 29, was nominated by the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners (ACP), a non-profit community of tax-focused financial planners operating under the retainer model.

"I was so happy to have been nominated and am particularly proud to have this opportunity to acknowledge my affiliation with ACP and its reflection of my vision and values," said Ms. Moosmiller when she learned of her selection. In 2014, she joined Partnership Financial, a firm that shares her values of transparency and fee-only financial planning. "Partnership Financial's approach to comprehensive tax-focused retainer-based financial planning complements my commitment to help clients achieve financial independence," she said. And the move has been validated by her growing client base and plans to buy into the company next year.

Ms. Moosmiller has been in the industry for eight years and has already served as chair of her local Financial Planning Association chapter, as a member of a National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and was part of the 2015 NAPFA Spring Conference Committee. She currently chairs ACP's PR and Marketing Committee.

ACP President Al Davis said, "We are delighted to see Kristen recognized for her capability and leadership. She well represents ACP's commitment to a tax focus and retainer model and is certainly among the best and brightest young talent in this industry."

This is the third year InvestmentNews has compiled its 40 Under 40 list, with the aim of providing a glimpse at the tremendous potential in the financial advice industry, by finding often unrecognized young talent. This year's slate of 40 honorees under the age of 40 were selected by a panel of the magazine's reporters, editors and other representatives of InvestmentNews from a pool of nearly 800 nominations. Winners were chosen based on their level of accomplishment, contribution to the financial advice industry, leadership and promise for the future.
