  • (1888PressRelease) July 12, 2017 - London - AIG Options today announced it will begin a multi-year sponsorship of UNICEF's Nutrition Appeal campaign to support the non-profit organization's mission to ensure that no child in the world goes hungry. AIG will become one of the campaign's corporate sponsor partners.

"Through the Nutrition Appeal campaign, UNICEF has had a tremendous and enduring impact on children in countries across the world, providing more than 500 million meals," said Michael Etherington, Head of Public Relations at AIG Options. "We are proud to join the Nutrition Appeal to help end childhood hunger worldwide, and we look forward to this being a long term relationship that we intend to build on year on year. Some things are more important than the bottom line and we are lucky enough to be in a position where we feel we can make a difference to lives across the world"

As part of the multi-year relationship, AIG Options will sponsor projects across the globe, beginning with a planned £100,000 donation to provide free school lunches to children in Liberia. Company employees have also signed up to a scheme to donate a percentage of all commissions to the appeal, and will be taking part in fundraising initiatives across the UK.

"We have a bold vision to end childhood hunger, and having bold partners like AIG Options brings us nearer to achieving our goal of creating a world where childhood hunger and malnutrition is a thing of the past" said UNICEF spokeswoman Emily McCabe. "We've made real, lasting progress in eradicating childhood hunger, and with the right support, we can take that progress to the next level."
