A total of 7,250 active licenses for security products from 21 different vendors were converted to Outpost licenses over a 10-week period.

    The offer was an unprecedented opportunity for individuals concerned about the protection against cyberthreats being provided by their existing security solution. In the interests of global PC user security, Agnitum offered to protect their PCs for free with the robust and lightweight Outpost Security Suite Pro or Outpost Antivirus Pro for up to two years, depending on their current license.

    Launched in July, Agnitum's competitive upgrade offer to switch to Outpost security solutions for free attracted interest from thousands of users all over the world. Extended until September 30, 2011 with additional qualifying security vendors, the offer enabled users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Japan, and the Republic of South Africa to trade in their existing licenses.

    According to the final results of the offer, 50 percent of the upgrade requests came from users of Kaspersky, Symantec, and McAfee software; 40 percent from Avast, Avira, BitDefender, Trend Micro, BullGuard, Eset, and Panda users; and 10 percent from users of other security vendors' products.
