  • (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2013 - A distinguished collection of leading and influential women in Jamaica will make keynote addresses at the 2013-2014 Leaders-to-Leaders (Jamaica) second in a five part Speaker Series.

    Commencing at 12-noon on Monday 23 September 2013, at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston Jamaica, and under the theme "Closing the leadership Gap, why women can, and must help rule the world, speakers include: The Honorable Olivia "Babsy" Grange (M.P.); H.E. Pamela Bridgewater, US Ambassador to Jamaica; Kelly Tomblin, Chief Executive Officer, Jamaica Public Service Company; Pat Ramsay, Philanthropist, Mentor, Thought Leader, and Founding-president, International Women Forum, Jamaica Chapter, and Paula Llewellyn, Director of Public Prosecutions. Dr. Dana Morris Dixon, former Acting President of Jamaica's trade and investment promotions agency (JAMPRO), and currently group director at Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), will host/moderate the discussions.

    The inspiration for the captioned topic came from two recently published books: The Athena Doctrine: How Women (and the Men Who Think Like Them) Will Rule the Future (Michael D'Antonio & John Gerzema) and Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead (Sheryl Sandberg). The title is borrowed from Marie C. Wilson's 2006 book: Closing the Leadership Gap: Why Women Can and Must Help Run the World.
