    Dan Benardot, PhD, DHC, RD, LD, FACSM, is Full Professor of Nutrition at Georgia State University (GSU). After receiving his PhD from Cornell University, Dr. Benardot quickly became a celebrity in the sports nutrition field. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games Benardot worked with the United States women's artistic gymnastics team, where the US won its first team gold medal in their history. He was the nutritionist with the U.S marathoners at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games where, for the first time in its history, the US won 2 marathon medals.
