  • (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2017 - Award-winning independent magazine Yorkshire Women's Life is celebrating 15 years in print.

This well-received popular magazine in a handbag-sized format has been providing intelligent reading for over 15,000+ women in Yorkshire and the world for the last decade and a half. Although a primarily women-focused magazine, it provides more than the usual popular female fare. As well as celebrity interviews, travel, shopping - it includes features on leadership, business, international women's news and wider women's issues.

Strong, career-minded women relish the magazine's news-led approach as well as the striking female lifestyle and travel features. And yet, Editor Dawn-Maria France and her team certainly don't shy away from heavier issues like domestic violence, body image and debt reparation.

Recent articles have included how to nurture the next generation of female leaders; the UN's report into the deaths of missing indigenous Canadian women; girls' bullying; the identification of sexual violence in conflict areas as war crimes; the bullying of female Police officers in the workplace; starting your own business and changing careers after redundancy.

Editor-in-Chief Dawn-Maria France says, "The magazine primarily still has a Yorkshire focus, but that's not all by any means: it is ideal for women globally, because it deals with issues that affect the whole female population. What's more - it is participatory and interactive.

We actively encourage our readers to contribute to the content by writing features and articles of interest to them - and that will appeal to other women. We invite submissions from our regular subscribers, and offer them opportunities to get their work published for the attention of thousands of like-minded women."

Yorkshire-based journalist Dawn-Maria joined Yorkshire Women's Life magazine after graduating from University and working for a number of publications; soon becoming Editor-in-Chief of the highly respected award-winning title. She has won numerous journalists' awards in her own right.

Dawn-Maria continued: "At Yorkshire Women's Life Magazine we have a mandate to keep our fingers on the pulse of issues affecting women - on a regional, national and international level - and we have a responsibility, as journalists, to report these issues."
