  • Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2016 - Seniors First, Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors maintain their health and independence, commemorates 50 years of serving our community this May. Further marking this milestone, the organization held its anniversary party Tuesday at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel in Maitland, at which it revealed its new brand.

The intimate celebration honored the volunteers, donors and staff that made this golden anniversary possible. Joined by Annetta Wilson, an award-winning journalist and success coach, the event recognized Seniors First as the largest social services organization benefiting senior citizens in Greater Orlando, as well as revealed its plans moving forward.

"As we have grown over the last 50 years, so has the need for our programs and services," said Marsha Lorenz, President/CEO. "Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, donors, staff and community supporters, I am confident that we will be able to continue to provide services that keep our seniors living safe, healthy and independent lives well into the future."

Seniors First's impact to the community:
•Seniors First volunteers deliver conversation and smiles together with more than 200,000 meals annually to homebound seniors.
•Seniors First provides an additional 90,000 hot lunches through its Neighborhood Lunch Program.
•Seniors First provides over 100,000 hours of in-home and personal care services annually.
•Seniors First serves more than 4,700 Central Florida seniors each year.
•Seniors First combats the three biggest threats to aging: hunger, isolation and loss of
    independence.

Seniors First also revealed its extensive rebrand at the anniversary party. The logo that served the nonprofit so well over the years no longer reflects the expansive list of services and programs that it provides, or its expertise and permanency in its field. The new design features an updated logo and color scheme derived with symbolic elements in mind, while incorporating Seniors First's purpose and service to the community.

In addition to the new logo, the organization unveiled new elements that better embody its main priorities. These include a tagline, "Meals, In-home care and more," print and digital collateral and messaging. The new pieces include a redesigned website, newsletter and eblast templates, social media graphics and brochures, in conjunction with complete branding and stationery packages.

"With our rebrand, we wanted to illustrate our continuing commitment to the Orlando community," said Wendy Jackson, Senior Director of Development. "This milestone is the perfect time to reflect on how Seniors First has grown over the past 50 years and to strategically plan how we will meet the growing needs of our seniors going forward."

With the help of supporters and volunteers, Seniors First will continue to carry out its mission to enhance the quality of life of seniors by maintaining their independence and dignity.
