    About Jack's Place
It all started when Mr. Say Lip Hai arrived in Singapore from Hainan island and started as a cookboy with the British troops in Sembawang learning how to prepare the perfect roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. After learning the skills, he started his first restaurant, which was called Cola Restaurant and Bar in 1967. The restaurant served the British and Commonwealth troops and their families residing in Sembawang neighborhood.

Mr. Say Lip Hai's break came in 1968 when a British housewife tasted the steak prepared by him and suggested that he start a catering business in her husband's pub in Killiney Road. Her husband's name was Jack Hunt. Mr. Say agreed with the condition that he take over the whole kitchen operation leading to the birth of the famous Jack's Place Steak House. Jack Hunt sold the business to Mr. Say in 1974 and relocated back to England.

Today, the company is led by an aggressive management team, comprising of 2nd and 3rd generation family members and professional managers.

In year 2015, marks a special year with new menu roll outs and 2 year renovation plans announced for a refreshed revamp to cater to today's diners. And a new brand extension created in February 2015 called "Jack's Cola Café" under its belt, this paves its way for homegrown brands collaboration with Udders Ice cream and Smitten Coffee (something of rarity, but a collaborative first). The homegrown collaboration led to Jack's Place Toa Payoh with full Udders range that open in November 2015. And hot with its revamp exercise under the JP Pepperdine Group, is also the new menu roll out at Eatzi Gourmet Bistro and renovations in November 2015. The revamps and new menu roll-outs are attributed to 3rd generation Senior Management.

Year 2015 also recognizes the year of winners for Jack's Place as it bags the RAS Epicurean Star Award 2015 with Champion (Western Professional Category), Silver award (Western Aspiring Category) and Finalist for EXSA Super Star Award (Restaurant Manager, Rex).

In Year 2016, Jack's Place is delighted to usher in its 50th Anniversary jubilee celebrations in the second half of the year.

    About Jack's Cola Café
In 1967, the founder Mr. Say Lip Hai, took a lease in a shophouse in Jalan Legundi, Sembawang and named it Cola. In fact, it was Mr. Say who started the first Singapore restaurant chain and the family has always been sentimental about Jack's Cola.

Jack's Place with its revival plans have brought back the brand Jack's Cola Café in February 2015, featuring popular Jack's Place cakes and pastries, pies, and ice-cream collaboration with home-grown brands such as popular ice-cream creamery "Udders" and another local coffee brand "Smitten Coffee", and with the retail concept which sells Jack's Place marinated steaks, sauces, craft beers and boutique wines to Jack's Place serving steak and escargot platters at reasonable rates.
