The course is valued at $250 and is eligible for 1.5 CEUs or 1 undergraduate or graduate credit. Introduction to Sustainability Concepts is a 15 hour, online, self-paced course designed to equip students and adults with a strong foundational knowledge of sustainability, the science and technology of promoting sustainability, and the balance between environmental, social, and economic concerns. The materials provide students with a thorough introduction to sustainability topics such as ecosystems, energy and water challenges, life-cycle analysis, and climate change science. The course incorporates hands-on audits, online modules, nationwide discussion forums, and dynamic instruction methods. GEF Institute also offers certifications to encourage and motivate individuals to take steps toward sustainability literacy and action.
