(1888PressRelease) February 19, 2010 - Amazon.com today introduced "Kindle for BlackBerry," a new application available as a free download from Amazon.com. The Kindle application )for iPhone) has proven to be a good adjunct to Kindle ownership. I'm sure Amazon feels that the use of the app will more often that not lead to the purchase of a Kindle device.
The Blackberry Kindle reader will not prove to be an enjoyable reading experience due to the small screen size but should be functional due to the high-resolution of most Blackberry screens. Once a user starts to acquire a Kindle book collection (paid) the next natural step is a Kindle physical device.
The next big Kindle software step will be the iPad software release - will it support color, newspapers and magazines ??? If it does it might make the actual Kindle obsolete and Amazon can go back to being a book and media supplier.
This scenario will be profitable for Amazon because no one will really care about the NOOK if Kindle formated books and periodicals get full support on the iPad and MAC ( assuming the iPad has the market share it hopes to acquire.)
