  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2012 - Bel Esprit Showroom members Andes Made, Las Gringas and Moonlight Jewelry will be presenting their ethical collections of upscale jewelry and accessories at the Pop Up Showroom: New York during New York Market Week.

Moonlight designs are inspired by vintage and Victorian themes, as well as contemporary shapes and ideas. References to long ago times, as well as art deco and 30's and 40's Hollywood are executed with recycled sterling silver wire, and feature vintage glass, lead-free crystals and semi-precious stones, to create a contemporary style that captures the romance of other eras. The collection is for women of all ages who want jewelry with a sentimental touch that can be worn for any occasion and complements any outfit. Moonlight jewelry is made from certified recycled sterling silver and lead-free crystals. The collection is hand-crafted in the US, giving each piece a personal and unique touch. Moonlight jewelry was born from a love of design, a creative spirit and a desire to participate in the design of a fashion collection with an ethical mission.

Las Gringas is a brand of socially conscious fashion started by two friends determined to create style that fosters human rights and the rights of women and families. Las Gringas works in Bolivia, with groups of women from the town of El Alto to produce a collection of colorful and fun accessory and clothing items from alpaca wool. The sales of the hand knitted items insure income to the workers and their families. The collection is hand made from 100% alpaca wool, one of the sweetest, warmest and strongest of all animal fibers. Featuring women's and children's hats, gloves, scarves, ponchos and tunics, the collection offers contemporary style in a luxurious, lustrous wool. Alpaca wool is naturally hypo-allergenic, making alpaca garments comfortable even for sensitive skin and babies; adorable pieces snuggle wee ones in cheerful patterns and soft warmth.

Can luxury be good for the environment and society? Since 2006, Andes Made has answered that question with a resounding Yes. Scarves, shawls and other accessory items are hand knitted or machine knitted in natural baby alpaca and llama wool, showcasing the different colors of the alpaca animals. The entire process, from farming to final product is 100% organic and fair trade, although a wide array of colors are available for specially dyed pieces. Intricate weave patterns are executed with precision and finesse, giving the pieces a subtlety in design that adds to their luxury. Already in fine boutiques throughout Europe, these luxury accessories are now available to US retailers.

Andes Made, Las Gringas and Moonlight Jewelry will be available for review by buyers and press at the pop up showroom, and will be featured in the "Style-Off," a stylist competition sponsored by the showrooms and The Lane Style House. Pieces will be mixed with other apparel and accessory collections at the pop up showroom by stylists challenged to create a unique look.

The Pop Up Showroom: New York will bring a select group of upscale designers from the US, Europe and Africa to the Strand Hotel during New York Market Week and present their collections to buyers and press. New York Market Week attracts over 20,000 industry professionals to trade shows being held during the week.
