  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2012 - Memorial Day weekend marked the grand opening of YoArt, the newest shop to open in The Plaza Food Hall. YoArt is a frozen yogurt boutique where guests can taste various flavors before they pick up a cup and create their own edible masterpieces.

YoArt at The Plaza Food Hall offers 12 flavors including non-fat/low-fat flavors, a no-sugar- added option, a sorbet, an original tart, a Greek yogurt and Eloise Strawberry, an exclusive Food Hall flavor in honor of The Plaza's favorite guest. Most flavors are gluten-free and all are teeming with four strains of probiotics, which help maintain a healthy digestive system. YoArt also offers over 90+ high-end toppings, including organic granola, champagne cordials, pure chocolate sprinkles, fresh whipped cream, and organic fruit (when available).

This is Fran and Isi Albanese's second frozen yogurt shop. Their first, Frannie's Goodie Shop in Mount Kisco, NY, has amassed an incredibly loyal following in a short time. "When we opened Frannie's a little over a year ago, we never could have dreamed we'd become such a destination in Northern Westchester," said Fran. "When the opportunity to be part of the new Food Hall at The Plaza presented itself, we didn't even hesitate to jump on board."

The Albanese's are honored to join the New York institution. "The Plaza Food Hall combines the legacy of The Plaza Hotel and the whimsical story of Eloise with a fresh, modern dining experience for guests, residents and visitors," she said.

The name 'YoArt' is the Albanese's trademark, and is a play on the word 'yogurt.' "We created this mark to use in locations where we are only serving frozen yogurt and toppings, as opposed to Frannie's, where we serve coffee/tea, baked goods and confections," explained Isi.

Each quarter, YoArt will donate 1% of sales to a local charity, in an effort to support the community and unite people around important causes. Their first supported charity will be City Harvest, which collects and serves food to the hungry.
