  • (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2011 - Paphos, Cyprus --- Philip Lew, CEO of XBOSoft, spoke at two sessions. The first session, was a tutorial on software quality measurement and improvement. In the tutorial, attendees learned methods on how to define and measure software quality according to an organization's particular environment, needs, and its many aspects such as usability, and learnability.

In the second session, Lew presented a research paper entitled "Instantiating Web Quality Models in a Purposeful Way" which focused on how to use software quality models and instantiate them specifically for the purpose of software quality improvement, particularly for web applications.

"Lew gave the audience an understanding of how to define and measure quality for different types of applications in a real situation. He showed how to use quality models to evaluate product quality combined with quality in a real context of use, and how to link them together. In particular, he gave us an understanding of usability and user experience and where the industry is going in terms of defining, measuring and improving those aspects of quality. Through purposeful model instantiation, the presentation showed a practical method to systematically improve the quality of web applications in different domains", noted Luis Olsina from the National University of Argentina in La Pampa.
