  • (1888PressRelease) April 04, 2011 - Los Angeles, California - Your Plot Thickens http://www.yourplotthickens.com Published writer and former magazine editor, Lara Sterling, announces that Your Plot Thickens, a writing school based in the South Bay of Los Angeles, has joined forces with the Mary Pickford Institute in Los Angeles to develop the Mary Pickford Studio.

The Mary Pickford Institute functions to cultivate awareness of film pioneer Mary Pickford's life while also providing outreach to at-risk youth through a Mobile Classroom, which is, in essence, a digital production and editing suite on wheels.

The Mary Pickford Studio is a space that the Institute has on its property, which is available for small productions and screenings and also as a place for meetings and seminars.

Sterling is currently collaborating with the staff of the Mary Pickford Institute to develop the Mary Pickford Studio as a small theater in which to feature small productions and teach seminars with well-known screenwriting teachers on such subjects as Dialogue for Screenplays or How to Write Your Opening Scene.

The Mary Pickford Studio is located at 8885 Venice Boulevard, Suite 102, Los Angeles, CA, 90034. Currently on the calendar is a networking mixer through the LA Writers Network. This will take place on April 23, 6pm-8:30pm.

For rentals or bookings of the Mary Pickford Studio, please contact Andi Hicks, director of the Mary Pickford Institute, at (310) 287-3700.

Your Plot Thickens features workshops and seminars for novelists and screenwriters that are suitable for both beginning and advanced writers. The difference between Your Plot Thickens and other writing schools is that at Your Plot Thickens, students actually write scenes from their novels or screenplays in class.

Your Plot Thickens is now also offering private consultation on screenplays with former UCLA screenwriting professor Neill D. Hicks. With over twenty years experience as a screenwriting teacher and credits that include Rumble in the Bronx, Hicks will offer two services to aspiring screenwriters through Your Plot Thickens: 1) story consultation on scripts between 110-120 pages for which writers will receive notes and an hour-long phone consultation; 2) story consultation on treatments that are three to five pages, the object of which is to have the story down before writers embark on the journey of actually writing the script.

To learn more about Your Plot Thickens' services or to view a schedule of upcoming workshops, seminars and events, please visit www.yourplotthickens.com or call (424) 209-8521.
