  • (1888PressRelease) August 08, 2011 - In these difficult economic times, finding and landing a job has, for many, become very challenging. Recognizing the trend for so many job advertisements to identify 'negotiation skills' as prerequisites, two experts in the field have joined forces to deliver an intensive training workshop aimed at developing these skills.

Australians Rick Otton and Iven Frangi, in announcing their 'Habits of the Masters of Persuasion' workshop, explain why persuasion techniques and negotiation skills have come to be so highly valued by employers.

"There was a time, not so long ago, where negotiation skills were required for sales staff, human resources and customer service personnel," said Mr Otton. "However these days every person in a workplace is expected to possess them. Negotiation skills make for a happy workplace and satisfied customers."

Dealing positively with conflicting issues and opinions, and using persuasion techniques can, he believes, improves productivity. "There is a real link between effective negotiation and team performance."

Persuasion expert, Mr Frangi, has seen a marked increase employers advertising for staff with negotiation skills, and he knows that understanding persuasion techniques, particularly for sales-focused positions can mean the difference between landing a job, or not.

"It is not just the fact that an applicant can tick the 'negotiation skills' box," he said, "but those applicants who have negotiation skills and have mastered persuasion techniques are better equipped to implement them in their letter of application, their resume and at interview."

"They are more likely to get the job."

Otton and Frangi have designed the 2 Day 'Habits of the Masters of Persuasion' training, which is being held in Sydney on 9 and 10 August 2011, to include:

How listening differently can increase your sales conversion and empower you
Magic words, phrases and scripts that make your prospects say 'yes'
Identify and overcome invisible obstacle that can delay your sale
How to unlock the right questions that convert to sales
How to make sure you are on the upside of a negotiation
