  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 28, 2012 - March marks National Women's Month, a time when we celebrate the contributions of extraordinary women across the country. In honor of this, Women on the Move (WOTM) today announced that they will be holding their highly anticipated WOTM Forum at New York University on March 21, 2012.

Entrepreneurs and NYC trailblazers, Amber Ravenel of Ravenel Records and Dee Vazquez from Hot 97 & Sirius/XM Radio, lead the NYC based Female Empowerment Organization, which is designed to prepare young women for successful futures and careers. Today more than ever, woman play a leading role in our country's economy and businesses and WOTM is here to encourage and motivate that continued growth.

"We are excited to be celebrating 6 years of empowering young women and honoring women in power," said Dee Vazquez, Co-Founder of WOTM. "Musical female icon Lauryn Hill said it best when she posed the question, 'How you gonna win if you ain't right within?' So we've decided to take a more holistic approach to this year's forum by working closely with the students at NYU to create an event that will transform the ethos of women's initiatives both academically and spiritually."

Past speakers and participants for Women on the Move includes industry heavyweights such as: Danyel Smith, Editor-in-Chief of Billboard Magazine; Kim Osorio, Editor-in-Chief of The Source; Author Teri Woods, DJ Beverly Bond of Black Girls Rock! and Miss Info from Hot 97. A truly dynamic initiative, WOTM is not only a platform for young women to connect with mentors and potential employers; but it also serves as a vehicle to bring fresh, young and innovative ideas and talent to the various industries within the media. WOTM's annual event is catered to female college students in New York City and is free of charge to attend.
