Wolf Twin Books announces the release of Vanished Roads, a new collection of 104 contemporary haiku by Rockford poet Thomas L. Vaultonburg. The book is available beginning June 21, 2026. While Vanished Roads gathers years of haiku practice into a single volume, it is also the product of a creative partnership. The collection features original cover art and interior illustrations by artist and Wolf Twin Books co-founder Tré, whose visual work helps shape the atmosphere and emotional landscape of the book. Moving through themes of grief, impermanence, attention, and renewal, the poems focus on small moments drawn from everyday life and the natural world. Rather than offering easy conclusions, the collection invites readers to slow down and encounter each moment as it is.
"Vanished Roads is not a book about finding your way back," said Vaultonburg. "It's about learning how to continue when the way back no longer exists."
