  • (1888PressRelease) May 06, 2017 - What If? Publishing, an independent publisher in Loveland CO, received two national awards for their book "A Thrifty Good Life" by Sarah Sailer.

For nearly 30 years, the Independent Book Publisher's Association's Benjamin Franklin Awards™ have been regarded as one of the highest national honors for small and independent publishers. Becoming a Benjamin Franklin Award finalist showcases a publisher's commitment to professional standards and high-quality book content and production.

For the 29th year of the Benjamin Franklin Awards there were close to 1,400 entries, three or four finalists were named in each of fifty-five categories for a total of 169 finalists.

What If? Publishing entered author Sarah Sailer's book, A Thrifty Good Life and on April 7th was awarded a Silver Benjamin Franklin Award in the Home & Garden category at their awards ceremony in Portland, OR.

On May 3 the book was named a Finalist in the How To/Home/Garden (Non-Fiction) Category of the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards™ (NGIBA).

A Thrifty Good Life chronicles Sailer's unlikely journey into urban homesteading. Digging up her lawn, Sarah had no idea she would discover a new way to live. That along the way she would accidently fall in love with a simple, homegrown life. A life rooted in the earth and connected to community. A life, she's now convinced, that is the richest life there is. Complete with beautiful photos, family recipes and inspiring tales from the garden. Sustainable living for beginners.

Liz Mrofka, publisher at What If? Publishing says, "We're excited for the recognition Sarah is receiving for her book and hope that it inspires others to give sustainable living a try."
