  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) August 17, 2023 - Starting on Saturday August 19th through to the end of the year, the Scientology Information Center welcomes the community to view featured films from Scientology TV’s Documentary Showcase. The doors to the Information Center open at 1:45pm and the film starts promptly at 2:00pm. Light refreshments are served and there is no cost to attend.

“Fundamental to Scientology is our humanitarian mission,” said Amber Skjelset, the Manager of the Information Center. “We support programs in the fields of human rights education, literacy, morality, drug prevention and disaster relief. The Documentary Showcase is a platform for independent filmmakers who embrace the idea that the world can be better – that there are people in the world who are making a difference.”

Scientology TV airs locally on Spectrum Channel 5 and nationally on DirecTV 320. The documentaries cover a wide range of topics, from the story of four women who rowed across the Pacific Ocean (Losing Sight of Shore) to the rise of the superhero culture (Geek, and You Shall Find).

“Our seating is limited, so I encourage people to call in and confirm their seat,” said Ms. Skjelset. “A different documentary is aired every week, so I recommend going to www.scientology.tv to see the trailer and description of that week’s documentary.”

The Scientology Information Center is located at 500 Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. There is free on-street parking and City garage parking on the weekends.

For more information about the Documentary Showcase screenings, please call (727) 467-6860.
