  • (1888PressRelease) October 08, 2010 - Yorkshire Business Masters nominee Vuba Group Limited have brought in two new investors, Alex Hall and Nick Dawson, as part of a drive to increase market share in its flagship Vuba Supplies division and expand into the domestic market under the name Vuba Sealers.

Alex, 27, is the MD of Halltech Electrical Services, a company he started in 2003 which now employs 30 staff and carries out work for major clients such as the Hull City Council. Nick Dawson has retired after a successful career in finance which saw him involved in the growth of a multi-million pound turnover convenience store chain and act as a the Finance Director during the sale to a leading supermarket.

Alex said: "I've known Sean (Vuba Group MD) for a few years now and I've always wanted to get involved with him. I'd been watching the growth of Vuba with a keen interest when he proposed the investment opportunity. I'm always open to new challenges and I'm excited to see what we can do as a Group over the next three to five years."

Sean said: "Having Alex and Nick on board is a great boost to the business. Although neither will have an active role in the day to day running of the business, their experience has already proven invaluable."

Vuba Group specialises in the manufacture, installation and supply of epoxy coatings and industrial flooring products. The company started out as Vuba Flooring in September 2009 based in Hull, and now employs 8 staff with a turnover of £420,000. The creation of Vuba Supplies followed in May 2010 and both companies have been subsequently sold to Vuba Group as part of a deal to bring in the new investors. Vuba Group was awarded Yorkshire Enterprise and Diversity 'New Business of the Year' 2010 and nominated in the start up category for the Yorkshire Business Masters 2010.

Vuba Group was started by Sean Scott, 22, previous winner of the Ernst and Young Next Generation Entrepreneur of the Year Award and James Dawson, 23, a Leeds University language graduate. Sean will be giving a presentation at the International Enterprise Promotion Convention in Harrogate in November as part of the UK Enterprise Week.
