  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2020 - The Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Florida have re-opened their downtown Clearwater center to groups of ten or less visitors. The Center is open seven days a week, 10am to 10pm Monday – Wednesday, Friday and Sunday; from 10am to 8pm Thursday and 1pm to 10pm on Saturdays. No appointment is necessary, but is recommended. Visitors are welcome to come by and avail themselves of complimentary copies of the popular “Stay Well” booklets, or stay and do a free on-line course.

“The ‘Stay Well’ booklets are a wealth of information on how to keep oneself and others well – more than just washing your hands and social distancing,” said Glendy Goodsell, the Executive Director of the Volunteer Ministers (VMs). “We have copies of the three booklets here in both English and Spanish.”

The booklets are How to Keep Yourself and Others Well, How to Protect Yourself and Others Using a Mask and Gloves and How to Prevent the Spread of Illness with Isolation. The booklets are provided at no cost and are secular, following CDC guidelines for maintaining one’s health. More than 100,000 of these booklets have been distributed to shops, gas stations, convenience stores and restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.

“People are also suffering from stress caused by uncertainty about the future and having to stay distant from others,” continued Ms. Goodsell. “For those who are looking for tools to help them with life’s challenges, we also offer free courses on-line and at the VM Center.”

Course titles include Solutions for a Dangerous Environment, The Cause of Suppression and How to Resolve Conflicts.

The Volunteer Ministers Center is located at 101 N. Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater. Guests are requested to maintain social distancing while in the Center and the Center closes twice daily at 12:30 and 6:30 so the facility can be sanitized. For more information, please call 727-467-6965.

    THE SCIENTOLOGY VOLUNTEER MINISTERS:
The Volunteer Minister (VM) program was launched more than thirty years ago, in response to an appeal by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard. Noting a tremendous downturn in the level of ethics and morality in society, Mr. Hubbard wrote, “If one does not like the crime, cruelty, injustice and violence of this society, he can do something about it. He can become a VOLUNTEER MINISTER and help civilize it, bring it conscience and kindness and love and freedom from travail by instilling into it trust, decency, honesty and tolerance.”
