  • (1888PressRelease) April 13, 2013 - WATERLOO, Ontario - Virtek Vision International announced today their participation at Control taking place May 14 through 17 at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre in Germany. In hall 7, stand 7126 Virtek will perform live demonstrations of its LaserQC® Rapid Inspection System and Iris™ Spatial Positioning System.

Virtek LaserQC is a family of rapid inspection systems that employs lasers to measure the accuracy of two-dimensional parts to very tight tolerances within 0.05mm (0.002 inches) and formed parts to tolerances within 0.25mm (0.010 inches). Designed for the sheet metal and other manufacturing environments, LaserQC's intuitive user-interface allows all cutting and punch machine operators to quickly become fully proficient in proofing their own parts, removing the QC bottleneck. This makes first article and audit sample inspections quick, accurate and easy to obtain.

Launched in December, the Iris Spatial Positioning System (SPS) is a breakthrough precision assembly system that accelerates manufacturing by eliminating costly templates and jigs and ensures products are manufactured as designed. Iris combines the use of laser projection with 3D vision technology to create a new precision assembly technique called virtual tooling. Iris SPS locates objects in 3D space and quickly locks onto CAD-specified assembly positions to guide the user through the assembly process. The system is ideal for companies manufacturing heavy machinery such as earth moving equipment, locomotives, ships, and other large-scale products.

Ralph Beier, LaserQC Sales Manager EMEA for Virtek comments: "Virtek has been operating for over 25 years and has repeatedly exhibited at Control. The trade fair provides an ideal opportunity to connect with existing Virtek users and meet new manufacturing companies from European and world-wide locations. I look forward to demonstrating the LaserQC and our recently launched Iris system to Control visitors, to provide live examples of how these systems can help manufacturing companies increase throughput and improve profitability."

As the world's leading trade fair for quality assurance, Control brings together users from all over the world with the international market leaders and innovative suppliers of all QA related technologies, products, subsystems and complete solutions in hard and software. With over 800 exhibitors from 30 countries around the world, Control is the number 1 source of information for all companies that see first class quality as the basis of their business success.
