  • (1888PressRelease) August 27, 2013 - The newly opened Viridian Resort in central Patong is attracting more couples and families seeking a green holiday experience after undergoing a recent transformation into a tropical garden oasis with eco-friendly appeal.

Deva Sanctuary Co., Ltd., the new owner and operator of the 78-room property, formerly the Sea Sun Sand Resort, has revamped the venue into an eco-boutique hideaway with a 'romantic garden oasis' and upgraded the poolside rooms since taking over in February, 2012.

"We have upgraded the services and facilities and given the place an entirely new personality while keeping the rates affordable for guests who want a tranquil green space in the heart of Patong," said Viridian Resort Managing Director, Mr Suttinun Pornsirikul.

Before reopening in July, garden view rooms were upgraded to 'deluxe', 'grand deluxe' and 'superior' types, newly fitted out with contemporary tropical viridis-coloured décor and furniture, giving the place a fresh new personality and a modern romantic touch.

"Viridian, derived from Latin word 'viridis', used to describe a blend of aquatic blue and spring green hues. The modern back-to-nature theme reflects our 'green' policies to minimize power consumption and reduce waste water," said Mr Suttinun.

"As Viridian Resort is located in the heart of Patong, about 300 metres back from Patong Beach on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road, we have focused on creating a tranquil and romantic setting giving guests garden-view rooms coupled with the convenience of being a short walk from Jungceylon shopping centre and the entertainment on Bangla walking street.

"We've had a very positive response so far with guests of all nationalities, many of them young couples from Europe and countries throughout the Asia Pacific region wanting affordable luxury within easy reach of the beach but also close to Patong's shopping and entertainment venues," he said.

As well as refurbishing the lobby and rooms to fit the contemporary blue-green tones of the Viridian brand, the management has beefed up security throughout the property and plans to add an outdoor spa and a gym to complete the transformation by 2014.
