  • (1888PressRelease) March 29, 2013 - DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: Global provider of broadcast and transmission services for television and radio channels, ViewSat announced today that its recent participation this month at CABSAT, the Middle East & Africa's largest broadcast digital media & satellite expo in Dubai, was a big success. The company is making substantial investments and is looking to expand its presence in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region and the exhibition provided a perfect platform to meet with current and prospective customers, network with industry leaders and generate awareness about ViewSat's advanced broadcasting capabilities.

ViewSat showcased their expanded expertise - now offering broadcast services, not only in Sub-Saharan Africa, but also the expansion of their services network throughout North Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America. The company has made significant and ongoing investment in satellite platforms, fibre networks and hardware to provide secure, reliable distribution of TV and radio programmes direct to homes.

"Armed with the appropriate network and systems in place to reach global audiences, with our focus on the Middle East and wider global expansion, we felt attending such a high-profile event like CABSAT in Dubai to showcase this was the next step. It turned out to be a fantastic event for us. It's always great to see our clients face-to-face and to have the opportunity to meet new ones, and that's what trade shows like this provide," commented Awaes Jaswal, CEO of ViewSat.

"We were in a great location and around 1,200 people visited our stand to talk to us, which was fantastic. Our Cocktail and Canapé Evening proved particularly popular. We have already formed new relationships since the event and we hope to be able to develop these further in the following months. The event helped us to raise our profile and we will definitely be exhibiting at next year's event."

ViewSat already has a range of clients, spanning the MENA region; Tunisia Television 1, Aedoon, Preferred Media, Aden TV, Sheba TV and Al Eman. ViewSat plans even further expansion into the MENA region in early April 2013, specifically in relation to its streaming capability. The company aims to offer an even broader level of service to customers this autumn, with an ambition to enhance its reputation on a global scale.

ViewSat's playout services increased from 6 to 43 between 2008 and 2012. This is anticipated to increase to 80 by the end of 2013. A 9m KU transmit antenna was commissioned for services to the Middle East on Eutelsat 7 West to further expand ViewSat's services. This latest round of investment takes ViewSat's expenditure on equipment in the six years since the company launched to more than AED 13.9 million. ViewSat has also commissioned the build of a new Master Control Room to accommodate its increase in services.

The company recently launched a new website containing information about ViewSat's capabilities and equipment, as well as graphic illustrations of its fibre and satellite networks.

"We have grown quickly and it is important that broadcasters understand the extent of our network and the benefits ViewSat brings in terms of understanding local markets and the quality and reliability of our systems. We are delighted that this information is now fully available through our new website," concluded Mr. Jaswal.
