- (1888PressRelease) August 20, 2011 - Ventura author, John Darling, is proud to announce the publication of his new book, Into the Dark Desolate Night. The book is made up of 10 short stories featuring the fictional character, Detective Anderson. Anderson is supported in the stories by a recurring crew of characters who work for him, along side of him, and sometimes against him.
Mr. Darling had this to say about the book:
"Though this book is a collection of short stories, it reads like a novel because of the recurring characters that keep showing up as the stories develop. From the first story entitled Tat to the last one entitled On Borrowed Time, the reader is able to develop a bond with the characters just as they would do with a character in a novel. Mr. Darling has decided to release the book through Amazon in Kindle format and in paperback format through Amazon's Create Space division.
He chose this publication process after exploring more traditional publishing options including that of having the book agented.
He felt that by publishing the book through these channels he could reach a greater market since Kindle versions of the book can be read on many different devices including any personal computers. He also wanted to sell the book at very affordable prices.
