  • (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2011 - The 2012 competition will be open to European plant breeders, whether they are exhibitors or not: VEGEPOLYS, SIVAL and French magazine Réussir Fruits & Légumes will award the prize for innovation in plant variety.

The SIVAL trade show is due to take place between 17 and 19 January 2012 in Angers (in Western France). It is the only trade show that brings together, among other plant companies, all the edible-seeds companies established in France.

To take part in the competition, companies must go to the SIVAL website (www.sivaldor.com) and submit a new variety breed which is not yet on the market, or one which has been marketed for less than a year. Applicants should send in their completed file before 30 October 2011, so that it can be validated by a panel of experts.

The competition's winner will gain strong exposure throughout the sector, benefiting from media coverage of the SIVAL trade show itself. The European trade press - including the press specialising in seeds, wine-growing, medicinal plants, fruit and vegetables, ornamental horticulture, and agronomical research - is expected to cover the event extensively.

The winning company will be entitled to highlight its prize, as part of its own communications with business players and the media. Since the prize will be awarded at SIVAL, the product will also be exhibited at a dedicated venue within the trade show.
