  • (1888PressRelease) May 26, 2018 - Armed security messengers make their way down the streets detected, but unnoticed, a typical scene in any major metropolis. What’s surprising, however, is what they’re tasked with protecting: 100,000 marijuana plant clones.

Making use of the heavy security supplied by the Ontario-based armored courier company, INKAS® Security Services Ltd., those 100,000 marijuana plants were successfully transferred from Ontario to British Columbia. As you might imagine, the transportation of 100,000 marijuana plants is not an easy, nor an everyday task. Instead, an operation of this size and scale requires tight security measures and an elevated level of professionalism; coordinated details ensured the operation’s success. This shipment of marijuana plants was first flown to Vancouver International Airport and then transported to its final destination where the clones will be cultivated in a network of greenhouses – which previously grew and produced green peppers – in Langley, British Columbia.

These facilities, run by BC Tweed Joint Venture, Inc. are a joint-effort that combine the likes of a greenhouse operation and the cannabis giant known as Canopy Growth Corporation. This facility is slated to become the largest licensed cannabis production facility in the world.

In February, news of these transports made headlines, causing a stir with media outlets eager to dig deeper, hoping to find something more than just the roots of the controversial plants. Although recreational pot will not be legalized in Canada until later this summer, companies are already preparing for the shift, both culturally and commercially.

With recent legislations passed by the Canadian Government regulating the distribution and sale of recreational marijuana, INKAS® Security Services and its relationship with Canopy Growth has only grown stronger. In order to provide reliable transportation for the unique (and expanding) niche of cannabis manufacturing, INKAS® Security Services has manufactured a custom fleet of vehicles, taking into account considerations like climate control as well as modular shelving and storage solutions – further ensuring the safe transport of the cargo.

With more than two decades of experience in the security industry, INKAS® Security Services has built a brand and a reputation supported by sustained growth. With a consistency that cannot be replicated, INKAS® Security Services is leading the change-making process, especially in terms of innovation. By thinking outside of the box, this pioneering company is elevating its quality, sustainability, progress, and invention.

Back in January, INKAS® Security Services agreed to a preferred vendor relationship with Canopy Growth Corporation (TSX: WEED), the world’s leading diversified cannabis company. INKAS® Security Services will assist with the transportation of this group’s marijuana distribution efforts, in additional to the services they also offer for governmental organizations, financial institutions, as well as commercial and private clients.

Through continued expansion and amidst the changing landscape within Canada and the legalization of marijuana for both medical and recreational use, INKAS® Security Services has helped evolve the current market. This forward momentum is progress, progress that is certainly headed in the right direction.
