  • (1888PressRelease) March 20, 2013 - There will be 18 companies on the Pavilion, exhibiting products such as single-use crockery, caviar, frozen desserts, dried fresh produce, wines and spirits.

UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, is organising the first French Pavilion (Stand 2B60, Hall 2) at the World Travel Catering & On-board Services Expo (WTCE). There will be 18 French companies displaying their quality products and traditional know-how over an area of 150m² at the trade fair, which will be held at the Hamburg Messe in Hamburg (Northern Germany) from 9 to 11 April of this year.

The sweet products on display on the Pavilion will include frozen pastries and macaroons from La Compagnie des Desserts, biscuits by La Mère Poulard, cannelés, which are a speciality from Bordeaux (South-West France) produced by Aquitaine Spécialités, and La Perruche sugar from the Tereos Group.

There will also be a range of fruit-and-vegetable specialists on the Pavilion, such as Kreek's and its premium dried fruit and vegetables; Les Vergers Boiron, which will display fruit-and-vegetable purees and fruit-based sauces; Darégal and its aromatic herbs, oils and sauces; Nature Frais and its pre-prepared fruit and vegetables; and, finally, La Ferme à Jules, which will display its snack-pack vegetables and its organic fresh-produce range.

The Vignerons de la Vicomté will showcase wines from the Languedoc region (in Southern France) and Labouré-Roi (a winery founded in 1832) will display its fine Burgundy wines (from Central France) on the French Pavilion. La Distillerie Tessendier, which has been producing cognac since 1880, will also showcase its quality products.

For its part, Piz'wich Europe will exhibit its frozen snacks, wraps and pizzas, while Traiteur de Paris' range of delicatessen and frozen savoury products will be on display.

Clarelia's Natâma brand of dietary and free-from products will be on the Pavilion, along with Triballat's Sojasun brand of soy-based products, which include cream substitutes, snacks, drinks and burgers.

Sturgeon, the largest producer of French caviar, will display its Sturia high-end brand of caviar.

Finally, Comatec will exhibit its range of packaging and single-use crockery.

The exhibitors listed above are a mixture of century-old and recently founded businesses, SMEs, as well as large companies that provide quality products from leading brands, while mixing traditional know-how and innovation.

The companies and their internationally recognised brands have built up a presence throughout Europe, as well as in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Maldives, the Middle East, Morocco, Russia and the USA. Most of these French products are already available in duty-free areas at airports and in high-end hotels, and some ranges are also distributed through supermarket chains. A number of the French companies also work with specialist distributors and large catering businesses, as well as airlines and railway companies.

It is the second time that the trade fair has been organised, and WTCE 2013 will bring together companies from across the catering sector and agri-food suppliers who provide on-board services, as well as companies providing in-flight entertainment services, gifts and luxury goods, and related support services (including toys and travel products, cosmetics and perfumes, jewellery items, tobacco products, hygiene products and services, etc.).

The trade show will be held together with the Aircraft Interiors Expo, which is the leading trade fair dedicated to interiors in the aviation sector. These two complementary events form the main platform for showcasing equipment and services intended for airline companies. As such, they attract key players that supply equipment and services to the aeronautic industry and, on a broader scale, the transport, rail and maritime sectors.

Visitors to the trade show are expected to be made up mainly of delegates representing airline companies (32% of visitors), catering companies (17%), and food suppliers (12%).
