  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2020 - Tumblehome, Inc. today announced a Koren language publishing deal with Green Frog Publisher, Ltd. The deal is for Microplastics and Me, by environmental youth activist Anna Du. The book will be published in Korean and will be under contract through 2025; this agreement was arranged by Seyoung Chon at The Agency Sosa. Green Frog Publisher, Ltd. publishes many children’s books, including a series called I am a Bud Citizen, which consists of books based on true stories. The books in this series convey a philosophy of humanity and citizenship to children and align with Tumblehome’s mission to inspire kids’ love of science through the power of story.

Anna Du is a middle school student in Massachusetts. Her interest in saving the ocean from plastics pollution helped her become one of the top rated science fair students in the country, and named one of the Top Ten Young Scientists by Discovery Education. Her accolades include winning the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair, becoming a two-time nationally recognized Broadcom MASTERS national middle school fair finalist, and winning multiple top scholarships in her fields, including the Barron Prize. Her work has been featured in dozens of national TV specials including the Kelly Clarkson show, and she has recently been invited to speak at TedX.

“We are thrilled to publish Anna’s work and highlight her role in protecting the world’s oceans as both an outspoken environmental activist as well as a young scientist. She is on a mission to bring awareness to the world about the severity of microplastics in our oceans, and inspire them to think about how they can work on their own projects to help alleviate this problem, or even work on any problem in the world they may want to solve on their own.” Pendred Noyce, Co-Founder, Tumblehome, Inc.

“I’ve written a book to reach out to more people about this major issue. My hope is to make this book available as a resource to more people in communities that might not be aware of the severity of this problem. I know my project alone can’t solve a problem as big as global ocean pollution, but I hope that my book, videos, and other world might be able to reach other kids my age who want to help out. This problem is going to affect my generation when we are adults, and no single person or nation is going to be able to solve this problem alone. We’re all going to have to work together. I’m so excited that this message can now be spread across the world, to Korea.
I am so happy to be working with Tumblehome in Boston, and now Green Frog in Korea, to advance my message worldwide.” Anna Du
