  • Bergen-Passaic, NJ (1888PressRelease) May 30, 2014 - Chad Buchanan, chief investment officer for Tryko Partners, LLC in Brick, New Jersey, will serve as a featured panelist at the Information Management Network's (IMN's) 15th Annual U.S. Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing Forum. More than 1,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the two-day conference, set for June 12 and 13 at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan.

Buchanan manages capital relationships with both lenders and investors for Tryko Partners, a rapidly growing private equity real estate group that owns and operates affordable and market-rate multifamily assets, as well as skilled nursing properties. At the IMN conference (on Friday, June 13), he will participate in a session entitled "Joint Ventures: The Operating Partner Panel."

Moderated by David Eyzenberg, a principal with Avison Young, the discussion will include operating partner views on joint ventures with funds. Other panelists include Joe Breitkopf, partner, Alchemy Properties; Pete Kutzer, managing partner, Edgewood Realty Partners; and Kent M. Swig, president, Swig Equities.

"For smaller owner/operators, expanding in today's market hinges on establishing successful, long-term relationships with both financing entities and investors," Buchanan said. "Companies with strong track records can tap into the current, favorable lending environment to successfully close deals on their own. At the same time, when it comes to long-term expansion, entering strategic partnerships on select acquisitions is an important part of the mix. Funds can be an attractive option in today's market."

Buchanan holds responsibility for underwriting and structuring individual transactions, as well as overall financial portfolio management for Tryko Partners. During the past year, he spearheaded nine principal transactions totaling approximately $112 million. Marking his accomplishments, Commercial Property Executive named him among its 2013 "Stars to Watch." Today his company maintains a growing portfolio of more than 6,000 multifamily units and 1,500 skilled nursing beds (including several in U.S. News and World Report five-star rated facilities) in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio and Virginia.
