  • (1888PressRelease) June 19, 2012 - Once a far off concept, sustainability has gone mainstream and mixed use. Gables Residential, a leader in the development and management of multi-family communities, has named Trifecta Construction Solutions to commission their newest project to comply with Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) certification requirements.

Dr. Jennifer Languell, founder and president of Trifecta, will work with Gables' builders and developers to achieve the commissioning requirements for energy, water and indoor air quality for Gables Ponce, a luxury 10-story, 367-unit, mixed use project in Coral Gables, Fla.

Languell, founder and president of Trifecta Construction Solutions, explains that Gables Ponce is a unique example of how cost effective energy procedures can be built in to the most complex building projects from the earliest planning stages throughout all phases of the project.

"By implementing a comprehensive plan that ensures meeting the commissioning requirements, we will benefit the environment, the residents and visitors," said Languell. "The added benefit is tremendous cost savings in both the short and long term."

Gables Ponce, currently about 50 percent completed, is a collaborative effort by general contractor Facchina Construction of Florida, LLC, and architects Behar Font & Partners, P.A.

The project architecture reflects a Mediterranean design and incorporates natural elements to maintain the authentic flavor of Coral Gables. The new community, consisting of adjoining residential towers, will feature a host of expansive amenities including an infinity edge pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, multipurpose room and sports/Wi-Fi café.

"As a mixed-use project, Gables Ponce will be even more environmentally efficient," continued Languell. "Shopping, restaurants, a vintage style trolley, and the MetroRail are all within walking distance, reducing everyday transportation needs."

"Gables Residential will continue to focus on building sustainable communities and preserving natural resources as well as embracing eco-friendly development," said Gil Rodriguez, project manager of Gables Residential. "The Gables Ponce project is a prime example of this philosophy."

The project will begin pre-leasing efforts in September 2012 with delivery of the first apartment homes in December. Both buildings are slated for completion in 2013.
