  • (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2016 - TP3 Global conducted an industry wide survey in June 2015 and revealed that the number one risk factor faced by the pharmaceutical logistics industry is 'increasing costs due to ambient supply chains'. 59% said this was their number one risk factor, followed closely by tarmac excursions at 51%.

The concern surrounding controlled room temperature, or ambient, supply chains has arisen in light of the European Medicines Agency's updated regulations and subsequent new requirements for temperature data for the supply chains of medicinal products that are categorised as stable between 15C and 25C.

This customer-focused research coupled with ongoing R&D programmes resulted in the launch of a brand new engineered material, developed specifically to provide primary and secondary protection for controlled room temperature product shipments; SilverSkin BLAK, which has been incorporated into a new product, SilverSkin Quattro.

TP3 Global will be showcasing and introducing the new SilverSkin Quattro range of thermal protective covers to the wider industry, as they continue to support the Temperature Controlled Logistics Forum in Frankfurt, Germany 26-27th January 2016. This is a leading industry event for temperature controlled logistics, quality assurance and supply chain management professionals across life sciences where TP3 Global will be welcoming the global community to the event as official registration sponsors.

Peter Lockett, COO and Technical Director at TP3 Global says "Protecting 15-25C life sciences cargo has become more prevalent and a major priority with tightening EU GDP guidelines. TP3 Global has invested considerably in engineering a brand new material to suit this temperature range in an affordable manner. We're particularly excited that the compactness of the SilverSkin Quattro provides a multitude of savings across transport, storage and ease of use."
