Ronald Frend, our trainer who is a register engineer, and has almost forty years of engineering, consulting and management experience. He rose to a senior management position in Shell International before opening an engineering consultancy in England. Ron has worked extensively in Fitness for Service applications and now presents training courses for ASME in FFS and Materials worldwide. Ron has pioneered the use of Potential Failure Analysis (PFA) - a technique in which all possible methods of failure are examined before a failure occurred. Ron has served clients like Shell Oils, Shell Tankers, KPO, Kuwait Petroleum Company, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, Huisman (Netherlands), Noble Drilling Co, Petroleum Development (Oman), Landover, Ford Motor Co, General Motors.
Through the workshop, you will learn how to:
-Supply the latest technique in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and identify the various repair practices of pipelines, piping vessels and tanks in refineries gas, oil and petrochemical plants
-Analyze the defects and degradation of equipment, piping and pipelines
-Predict degradation in service and set optimum inspection intervals (API 580/ 581)
-Decrease equipment failure through monitoring of the Probability of Failure (PoF) systematically
-Estimate the remaining life based on general data corrected for plant specific conditions
-Use qualitative, qualitative and semi-qualitative analysis for degraded conditions to determine risk for continued service or should be repaired or replaced
-Recognized and overcome components that hinders the development of RBI
