Toastmasters Members Elect Chapel Hill Resident To International Board

  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2013 - Sharon Anita Hill, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International, the world's leading organization devoted to communication and leadership skills development. Hill was elected to the 2013-2015 two-year term at the organization's 82nd annual International Convention, held Aug. 21-24 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    "Toastmasters has enabled me to mentor and enlighten others," says Hill, who as a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors is a "working ambassador" for the organization. She works with the Board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.

    Hill is a professional speaker, who in 2004 founded Sharon Hill International, where she trains corporate employees as well as university students in the area of etiquette. She also serves as a keynote and motivational speaker for professional organizations. A retired Junior Executive at IBM, Hill is a past president of the Greater Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She serves as an Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle.

    Hill earned an MBA in organizational behavior from Kennedy-Western University. A past president of the International Society for Performance Improvement, she holds a certification in communications from Duke University and is a Certified Etiquette Trainer.

    A Toastmaster for nine years, Hill has been a member of her home club, Chapel Hill Toastmasters in Chapel Hill, since 2004. She has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within the organization and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation-the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters.
