  • Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) January 18, 2012 - Toastmasters International's District 25, which encompasses a large portion of North Texas from Waco to the Red River and Wichita Falls to Dallas, will host renown public speaker Darren LaCroix on January 26, 2012. The event will be held at Texas Wesleyan University's Lecture Hall in the Health Science Building on January 26th.The campus is located at 1000 Wesleyan Street in Fort Worth, off East Rosedale between I35W and Loop 820 South.

LaCroix was the Toastmasters World Champion Speaker in 2001. This means his speech that year ranked higher than those given by the tens of thousands other Toastmasters members worldwide in 116 countries. Now, he is in constant demand as a professional speaker.

LaCroix's now highly successful speaking career had meager beginnings. He was still living with his parents at home when he embarked on this career choice with the help of his local Toastmasters club. However, his club's mentor posed three questions to him which became crucial in plotting his path towards success. He will share those questions in his talk.

Donna Patton, District 25 Governor stressed, "You don't have to be a member of Toastmasters to attend. This is free to the public. Come and hear this man's fascinating story, and learn how you, too, can become an in-demand public speaker. Just go to www.d25toastmasters.org for details."

Toastmasters International has assisted its members in becoming more confident public speakers, as well as business and community leaders, since 1924. In District 25, there are over 130 clubs which meet on a weekly basis. Each club consists of a small group which mentors each other in developing these public speaking and leadership development skills. Toastmasters International provides the proven pattern, educational materials and support, as does District 25 with free lectures such as this, leadership training institutes, workshops and two area conferences per year.

The evening will begin at 6:30 with a networking mingle. Then, LaCroix will give proven pointers to developing your public speaking career, such as how to choose the right topic and the one thing you must do to make it as a professional speaker. He will also share, from his personal experience, the biggest mistake speakers make.

LaCroix has given this talk throughout the country. Many people have commented afterwards, "I've been wasting my time thinking I had to be perfect before I got started. Thank you."
