  • (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2015 - "We're thrilled to add First Coast and HealthSource to our family," said Mark Nusbaum, president of Times-Union Media. "Everything we do is focused on providing great value to our audiences, our business partners and our communities, and these outstanding monthly magazines give us new and exciting ways to do just that."

Times-Union Media's portfolio of more than 30 titles ranges from The Florida Times-Union, now in its 152nd year, to Jacksonville.com to neighborhood publications to military newspapers - published across print, digital and social platforms.

First Coast Magazine, launched in December 2012, showcases the vibrant culture of Northeast Florida, revealing inside stories designed to entertain with a focus on historical, educational and inspirational people and locales.

HealthSource focuses on healthy living in Northeast Florida, providing practical advice for vitality, longevity and enjoyment of life. Top local experts in exercise, nutrition, psychology, medicine and beauty join forces with staff to make each issue a how-to manual for a healthy lifestyle.

AJ Beson, CEO of Beson4Media Group, said the sale would provide him and his staff more time to focus on other aspects of their operation, particularly the full-service marketing agency that launched in 2008.

"The Times-Union is giving us the opportunity to put 100 percent of our focus on the agency and grow down that path," Beson said. "The Times-Union and Morris have the capital to take both magazines to the next level and make them bigger than they are. I'm excited for that."

The magazines become part of a broad-based portfolio of Times-Union Media products that also includes Jacksonville.com, Jax Air News, the Mayport Mirror, the King's Bay Periscope, FYI Sunday and Wednesday, Clay Sun, Shorelines, 16 neighborhood-based Living publications and Eco Latino. The company also distributes seven national titles: the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, the New York Post, Investor's Business Daily and TV Weekly.

Times-Union Media is owned by Augusta, Ga.-based Morris Publishing Group LLC, a privately held media company that operates 11 daily newspapers as well as non-daily newspapers, city magazines and free community publications in the Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and Alaska.

"We are excited to add these award-winning publications to our growing portfolio of products that serve the people of Northeast Florida, " said William S. Morris IV, chief executive officer of Morris Publishing Group. "We believe that a city magazine plays an important role in every community and is an important part of a local media company's product mix."
