Tilekind announces availability of free online tile quantity calculator
The Australian online tile retailer's planning tool brings surface measurements, deductions and an explicit wastage allowance into one estimate, with optional piece-count calculations.
- (1888PressRelease) October 09, 2026 - Docklands, Victoria - Tilekind announces the availability of its free online tile calculator, which helps customers prepare quantity estimates before discussing product coverage and ordering requirements with an installer or supplier. The calculator accepts separate wall or floor surfaces measured in metres. Customers can add the surfaces that will actually be tiled rather than treating an entire room as one area. An optional deductions section allows doors, windows and other untiled areas to be considered separately.
Wastage remains an explicit planning input. The interface provides 10%, 15% and 20% options, together with a custom allowance. These figures are not presented as installation recommendations. Customers are asked to confirm the appropriate allowance for cuts, breakage, pattern alignment and future repairs with their installer. An optional piece-count section accepts tile dimensions in millimetres. The tool converts dimensions to square metres and rounds the estimated requirement up to whole pieces. Its results remain planning estimates; customers still need to confirm a particular product's coverage and whole-box quantities before placing an order.
The results panel separates net tiled area from the selected allowance. It also links to Tilekind's project-brief and physical-sample information. Values are not automatically transferred between those pages, so customers can copy the area and allowance into their own notes before taking the next step. Tilekind also publishes a measuring guide alongside the calculator. Together, these resources give customers a starting point for recording measurements and comparing tile options while keeping product-specific and installation decisions with the people responsible for the project. The calculator is available at https://tilekind.com.au/pages/tile-calculator.
