  • (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2010 - Clearwater, FL - To attract more cute, funny and good puppy-and-dog videos, thepuppychannel.com, will award its "Pups At Play" DVDs, which have been selling for $25 online, every week through December 2010, to one who uploads the best original video, and to another who uploads the best YouTube video.

New features of the redesigned site are:

    • "Your YouTube Faves" section for the public to directly upload the coolest family-friendly dog videos they find on YouTube
    • Ten Facebook fans, who rotate appearances on the home page, with links to that community
    • Twitter page, also linked to the site's home page and Facebook page
    • Amazon pet products store, and mp3 music, expanding the array of media and logo products previously available
    • Grouply.com Social Community, replacing the former Ning community, which has been discontinued
    • Larger video screen for the "Weekly Puppy Love Video" collection.

Varieties of puppy and dog videos now available to viewers include those professionally produced by
The Puppy Channel(R), a weekly collection of carefully selected online videos, direct YouTube uploads, user-generated content in the video player and the community, plus more than a year of the curated YouTube video collections in the site's archives. All uploads by viewers are approved by the company before showing on the site.

"We are fortunate to have partners like Endavo Media and others, to help us build applications and content to this level online, and we're looking forward to adding more, as support continues to develop," said Dan FitzSimons, The Puppy Channel founder. "Endavo's video services platform helps us manage our extensive library of video, audio files and pictures, and deliver them to puppy-lovers around the globe."

The redesigned news page includes a 2-minute segment from a regional NBC News TV outlet as well as a popular NPR radio broadcast about the channel's early history on TV.

Amazon pet supply customers will find their favorite products in the expanded store. The company hopes they will appreciate knowing that a portion of their normal purchase price will help to support the growth of
    The Puppy Channel.

Viewers are invited to subscribe to the "Puppy Love Video" newsletter on the site's home page.

The 56 min. DVD prizes are the pilot show from the channel's early history on TV, and have been selling online for $19.95, plus delivery. Contestants are advised that video of puppies will be favored over that of older dogs, and should be focused on the dogs rather than their human friends or video crew.
