  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2011 - 36 year old native of Trenton New Jersey, Shef Seenya is an interesting character to behold, he considerers himself to be the Wayward Lion of the Group…and the" Poor mans King". He would be the first to tell you that while others were off in college or in the military getting what is deemed a proper education he was in the streets fine tuning the School of Life….getting educated in other things that lead to gaps in time.

Shef has always had a passion for music but never took it seriously because it did not bring in immediate income. On the streets he was known as "That cat that could flow."He recalls being at the Blind Tiger, when out of the blue the DJ asked him to fill in for an absent DJ. He met B-Star that night. The following week Shef attended a Free Style Battle with no plans to enter. After being challenged, Shef did what comes as natural to him as breathing. He walked away victorious. The following day Mr.Rozzi was filming a video shoot. By chance Shef happened to be there, low key as always when he was recognized once again "as that cat that could flow". Shef played it off and acted as though he had no clue what the stranger was talking about. B-Star stood at a distance witnessing the exchange and after the stranger moved on quickly asked Shef why he was down playing his who he was. Shef being Shef was both amused and impressed that this stranger he had just met the night before had the balls to call him out. The two remain close friend till this day.

Shef explains that he came into his Lion hood in his mother's womb. "To be a lion you have to be ready for any situation, worthy of having cubs. Nomad lions wander and steal. " "The UpRite Lions are three of the most eclectic, emotion driven, heartfelt, giving people with the capacity for good and the capacity for evil" Shef explained when asked how he would define the UpRite Lions.

The UpRite Lion Songs that holds the most significance to Shef Seenya is "I Give it All." "It expresses how I feel about life. I speak of regretting that my Father and Mother were not able to see me shine. I know they are smiling down on me." Influence: Doc Sinn
