  • Middlesex-Somerset-Hunterdon, NJ (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2013 - The Rockefeller Group announced today that it will develop a four-story, 100,000-square-foot medical office building for Summit Medical Group at The Green at Florham Park, a 268 acre master-planned development located in Florham Park, N.J. Summit Medical Group signed a 15-year lease for the entire building, which will be located at 140 Park Ave.

The building is planned for general medical office space, ambulatory care and radiology services as well as an ambulatory surgery center on a separate floor. Construction of the facility will begin in September 2013 with completion and occupancy expected by early 2015.

The building will be the latest development project to break ground at The Green at Florham Park, which has become one of North America's most distinctive new development projects. In 2012 BASF Corporation's North American Headquarters, located at 100 Park Ave., was designated LEEDŽ Platinum by the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming one of only five buildings in North America to earn LEEDŽ Platinum certification for core and shell as well as commercial interiors.

"The Rockefeller Group is pleased to add Summit Medical Group to the growing list of tenants who have chosen to locate at The Green at Florham Park, including BASF Corporation and The New York Jets," said Les Smith Jr., executive vice president of development for The Rockefeller Group. "Summit Medical Group has a reputation as one of northern New Jersey's most elite medical practices and its network includes some of the area's best physicians. It will make an excellent addition to the community and this terrific project will be an outstanding addition to The Green at Florham Park."

Summit Medical Group, New Jersey's largest privately held multispecialty medical practice, is headquartered in Berkeley Heights. The Group chose The Green at Florham Park site because of its interest in expanding to meet the health and wellness needs of residents in Essex and Morris counties.

"We are very happy to bring a new world-class medical office facility to the region," said Jeffrey Le Benger, M.D., chairman and chief executive officer at Summit Medical Group. "This centrally-located site offers great access to premier medical services for our patients and the surrounding communities."

Cushman & Wakefield Vice Chairman Marc Rosenberg and Summit Medical Group Chief of Operations Karen Graham represented Summit Medical Group in its site selection and lease negotiations. The Rockefeller Group was represented in-house by Clark Machemer, vice president, and Johanna Chervak, associate director.
