Conversations in the Gallery is presented in a coffee table conversation format geared towards 80 art enthusiasts and moderated by C. Zawadi Morris of BK Reader, a daily news site covering Central and East Brooklyn. This month, the unique conversation will feature Fabiola Jean Louis, a Haitian-born fine artist, who has received recognition for her fastidious life-sized dresses, sculpted entirely out of paper, which are inspired by the 18th century women of color and associated, timely subservience with sovereignty.

“As we celebrate the gallery's 10 year anniversary, I look forward to carrying on the tradition of Richard Beavers Gallery by expanding our programming with “Conversations in the Gallery” in collaboration with C. Zawadi Morris, publisher of BK Reader. This platform will allow creatives in art, literature, fashion, and lifestyle from Brooklyn that have made significant contributions to our communities on a national and international level with the opportunity to share their journey; which will hopefully inspire others to live their dreams.”

"Richard and I first began talking about doing this series a year ago, because of our mutual love for Brooklyn and the amazing wealth of intellectual and artistic talent that it produces year after year. We decided, let's embrace them and support them now, while they are still residents and before they are out of reach," said C. Zawadi Morris. "I'm excited to highlight the contributions and help amplify the voices of our local trailblazers, such as Fabiola Jean-Louis, at such an important venue such as the Richard Beavers Gallery and in such a personal and intimate setting."
