The premier opening and exhibition of "Favelas" by Belgian-born, Miami-based Caroline Geys, Abstract Architectural Artist & Contemporary Painter, welcomes art collectors, curious enthusiasts, and other undeniably fantastic individuals to experience vivid, captivating and intricate works in the most luxurious setting on South Beach, The Residences at Gansevoort South, 2399 Collins Avenue, South Lobby and Private, Luxury Exhibition Suite #1422.

A lively artist’s reception will be staged in the grand South Lobby of the Gansevoort Residences and the "Favela" series will be strikingly and intimately presented in a luxurious, modern 3,000 sq. foot living space, complete with a breathtaking ocean view and delectable edibles as prepared by Chef Craig Hylton.

Says Geys, “My work embodies my vision of urban cities that I have visited, and cities I have dreamed of visiting. My first trip to New York City in 1999 served as the inspiration to my work. I am fascinated with how an urban city functions with its accumulation of architecture and the differences between the functionality of large and small urban cities. The progression of my work and each new piece is like that of a city that continues to architecturally grow via various modern methods and is able to relate the past to the present. I am inspired by extracting ideas from a previous piece and creating a new piece that represents me artistically at that moment. My color palette fluidly changes with my mood and the way I would like to represent the urban city.”

This premier exhibition of “Favelas” will be available for intimate preview daily from 12-5pm in suite #1422, at the Residences at Gansevoort South, 2399 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139 for the duration of ART BASEL MIAMI 08.
