  • (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2011 - To celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2011, The Peninsula Beverly Hills introduces a variety of special dining and spa offerings, including a series of Afternoon Teas created to give back to the community. "We are grateful for all the support that our guests and local residents have given the hotel since it opened on August 8, 1991," said Offer Nissenbaum, Managing Director. "Our 20th anniversary is the perfect time for us to acknowledge that support by helping the organizations that do so much for our community."

The Peninsula Afternoon Tea, a popular Beverly Hills tradition, will be the focus of a year-long philanthropic campaign. Each quarter, The Peninsula will donate a portion of the proceeds of a special tea menu to a non-profit organization that serves the community. From February 1 through March 31, 2011, the Beverly Hills Education Foundation will be honored. Guests who order the special Beverly Hills Education Foundation Tea menu (US$ 60) will enjoy a complimentary glass of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé. As a parting gift, they will receive a "Cap Cake," a delectable pastry version of The Peninsula's signature Page cap, and a US$ 20 gift certificate to the Jill Roberts boutique in Beverly Hills. Other organizations to be honored at Afternoon Tea during 2011 are St. Joseph's Hospital, The Maple Counseling Center and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Throughout 2011, The Peninsula Beverly Hills will offer an array of commemorative dining specials. Among them:
    • "Anniversary Duo": An appetizer and drink offering for US$ 20 will be featured in The Club Bar and The Living Room. Between February 1 and March 30, 2011, guests can choose from a selection of wines and cocktails, and three Chinese Dim Sum items such as Steamed Shrimp Dumplings in Noodle Wrapper, Peking Duck Potstickers and Barbecued Pork in Steamed Dough.
    • "Pen 20": The hotel's 20th anniversary cocktail, a contemporary take on classic rum punch with fresh blackberries and ginger, will be served in The Club Bar and The Living Room (US$ 16).
    • "A Taste of '91": The Belvedere restaurant will feature a changing selection of dishes from the original 1991 menu, re-interpreted by Executive Chef James Overbaugh. The first is an entrée, Truffle-marinated Chateaubriand of Veal with Twice-baked Potatoes and Wild Mushroom Sauce (US$ 38). It will be available from February 1 until March 31, 2011.
    • "20th Anniversary Blend": A special blend of Chinese black tea with tropical and citrus flavors, created in honor of The Peninsula's 20th anniversary, will be available in all dining venues and through Room Service (US$ 7.50). Guests who order the 20th Anniversary Blend will be given a gift box of the tea to take home.

In addition, The Spa at this luxury hotel in Beverly Hills (http://www.peninsula.com/Beverly_Hills/en/default.aspx) will offer "20/20/20": Guests who book a 60-minute or longer facial are invited to enjoy a 20-minute Rejuvenating Eye Treatment, which includes a cooling jade roller massage and is designed to "take off 20 years." The "20/20/20" special eye treatment is priced at US$ 20 (valued at US$ 45) and is available through December 31, 2011.
