The Junior League of Miami Appoints Katie Lane-Arriola as President for 2013

  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2012 - The Junior League of Miami has appointed Katie Lane-Arriola to a one-year term as President of its Board of Directors. In this role, Ms. Arriola will be responsible for shaping The Junior League's 2013 slate of community-focused priorities, with an emphasis on improving the lives of women, children and families.

    Ms. Arriola joined the Junior League of Miami in 1997 and has since been involved in various initiatives including The Gladstone Center and the organization's Annual Fund campaign. She was Co-Chair of the ''Miami Magic'' Gala in 2006 and 2007 and has held the position of Vice President of Development, Membership and Community. She earned the Rebecca Herndon Bush Community Service Award, the Junior League's highest honor, in 2010.

    Founded in 1925, The Junior League of Miami has since planted the seeds for many programs that are still part of our community today by allocating more than $2 million dollars to initiatives such as the launch of The Children's Home Society and the Miami Science Museum.

    Mrs. Arriola has also been involved in additional community-based programs, such as The Reclamation Project, Beaux Arts, Jackson Memorial Hospital Guardian Angels, the Democratic National Committee Women's Leadership Forum, St. Philip's School Home Association, and the Miami-Dade County School Board Attendance Boundary Committee. She has also Co-Chaired Kristi House's largest annual fundraiser, the "Touch a Heart Dinner,'' for three consecutive years.

    Mrs. Arriola earned a degree in Business from Boston College and previously worked in Marketing for Fortune 500 companies. She is married to Eddy Arriola, Chairman of the Board of Miami-based Apollo Bank. They reside in Coral Gables with their two children.
