    The Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation. As a fun preview event to the 45th Annual Monterey Scottish Festival (to be held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds on July 7 & 8, 2012), the community is invited to The Great Scot Whiskey Tasting, a not-to-be-missed "first-ever" festive event that benefits the Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation. The Great Scot Whiskey Tasting will be held on Saturday, June 30th at the Turf Club at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, 2004 Fairground Road, Monterey (enter Gate 5) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM! Tickets are only $35 per person in advance and $40 at the door. The event will include light appetizers, and there will be many whiskey tasting stations including Glenlivit, Hankey Bannister, Jamison's, Balblair Single Malt, Dalmore, Old Pulteney and more! Feel free to wear your kilt!

    The Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation supports the functions of the Monterey County Fair (August 29-September 3, 2012) and its mission. Primarily, the Heritage foundation funds capital improvements at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, often described as one of the most beautiful Fairgrounds in the country. The Heritage Foundation also funds special projects such as School Tour Day and Special Friends Day. The program benefits Monterey County through increased ag literacy by educating school children about where their food and fiber comes from, encouraging health, nutrition and fitness.
