    The course is taught by Norman Lorch, CPA, an executive consultant with over thirty-five years of experience in the field of financial management and the administration of government contracts. In "Accounting Regulations and Business Systems," Mr. Lorch covers several topics including:
    • The inter-relationships of various penalties for having a business system deemed to be inadequate or not functioning properly.

    • Attendees will begin to understand the importance of establishing a system that complies with the Business System Rules of the Department of Defense Contracts-even when those rules and the related system deficiency penalties are only applicable to larger contractors.

    • Minimum levels of internal controls and their importance to all contractors.

    • Possible punitive actions from the failure to comply with the Department of Defense (DOD) "gold standard" and other regulations.

    • How complying with DOD standards and regulations relates to satisfactory completion of the SFI 408 (Pre-award Survey of Prospective Contractor - Accounting System) for all contractors.
