  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2013 - Today, the Global WebSphere Community (GWC) debuts a comprehensive website redesign that includes a revised visual theme, reimagined logo, as well as new site features for community members.

Influenced by modern IBM website designs and member feedback, the new website adopts a cleaner, brighter look to enhance member experience. Says Steven LaFond, GWC Community Manager, of the process, "Our design goal was simple: present the content our members want in an eye-pleasing way with a streamlined layout." Homepage highlights include access to a featured video, a larger events calendar, and information on the GWC Member of the Month.

Accompanying the new look of the website, members have greater opportunities for learning and sharing knowledge:
    • Live Q&As allow members to attend one-hour chat sessions with featured experts and thought leaders. Participants can submit their specific questions and receive answers back in real time. The first GWC Live Q&A will take place December 4 at 11 am EST with Ian Robinson, WebSphere Foundation Chief Architect. Members can sign up to ask their specific questions about developing and deploying with IBM WAS V8.5.5.Next.

    • A new member-to-member loyalty point feature now allows members to nominate their peers for points based on outstanding work and contributions. The website's point system offers participation recognition to contributors actively participating in sharing with the community. Members with the greatest number of points each quarter can receive prizes, including free IBM WebSphere Education Courses.

    • An updated, more navigable calendar makes it easier for members to access upcoming events by displaying arrows that allow toggling between months.
