The Founders Club Launches Growth Equity Exchange Fund

Top Quote Qualifying Companies Must Have Minimum $10M Revenue & 25% Year on Year Growth. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2012 - Silicon Valley - The Founders Club, (www.founders-club.com), a unique equity exchange fund, announces the addition of its latest equity exchange fund. The new fund will target CEOs, founders and early stage investors in technology companies with a minimum of $10 million in revenue for the last twelve months and minimum year on year revenue growth of 25%. Shareholders in these companies will qualify for consideration and if accepted will be able to invest up to 10% of their personal equity into the growth equity exchange fund in return for a limited partner ownership in the fund and membership in The Founders Club.

Andrew Romans, founder and general partner said, "The Founders Club is essentially creating mutual funds comprised of stock in high growth companies. The minimum year of year cash growth rate to get into this fund is 25%, which already sounds like a great investment. Requiring a minimum $10 million revenue run rate for the last twelve months means that these companies are well beyond technology and market risk and most of them can count on a good cash exit with their own venture. By bringing 15 such companies into the same equity exchange fund we believe this growth fund provides a rare and attractive investment exclusively to shareholders of high growth companies. CEOs, founders and early stage investors would be hard pressed to invest their future cash exit into the stock market or conventional mutual fund and achieve that high a return and rare fund performance."

BC Brant, general partner at The Founders Club added, "Beyond making an investment, CEOs, founders and early investors that participate in this fund will each become shareholders of the other companies participating in the growth fund and will therefore have a financial incentive to help the other companies with each milestone and achieve the maximum outcome from an IPO or large M&A exit. The Founders Club is an exclusive and unique network comprised of entrepreneurs, angel and venture capital investors. We add value to our portfolio companies with fundraising and achieving exits by providing exclusive access to our network and calendar of events for our members."

André Jaeggi, chairman of The Founders Club and former managing director of multi-billion dollar VC fund of funds investor Adveq said, "This growth fund is the latest fund adding to our active family of equity exchange funds including a healthcare and life science fund as well as an early stage technology fund. The healthcare and life science fund provides more relevance with focused industry access to investors and network. The early stage technology fund provides more value to early stage companies that benefit from access to angels and VCs seeking to make series A and series B investments. The elegant Founders Club model offers members the ability to leverage a small percentage of their equity to access the most reputable investors and key partners while achieving diversification, liquidity and become virtual investor shareholders in 10 to 100+ other high potential companies."

The Founders Club is an established family of funds where VC backed and pre or non-VC backed entrepreneurs agree to invest a percentage of their future equity returns into one or more of The Founders Club funds in return for fund ownership and membership in the club. There is no cash cost to join. Members only contribute equity or cash from proceeds at the time of a liquidity event at their company. Each fund comprises many high potential venture backed portfolio companies, thereby affording any single entrepreneur a strategy to create wealth while accomplishing portfolio diversification and reaping the rewards of a strong and relevant network. Entrepreneurs accepted into the club have access to other members as well as the forty venture capitalists, super angels and successful entrepreneurs serving on our advisory committees.
