Her short description on why she thought she deserved the Scholarship won her $250 cash.     The previous Scholarship winner was Cortney Allenbaugh from Groveland, IL. When she found out she had won she wrote in after receiving the $250 saying, "I was able to use the Edward Palonek scholarship money to take a college course this summer at a local junior college to help prepare me for the University I will be attending in the fall. I will now be able to go into my freshman year with already completing 15 credit hours of classes. I appreciate this scholarship in that it allowed me to prepare the way for my future education and ultimately my goal to pursue a career in helping others through exercise and nutrition.
