Lucinda Luvaas'body of work has recently become part of the permanent Feminist Art collection in the Brooklyn Museum. Her "Imprinting" technique is a meticulous process that is a hybrid between painting, relief techniques and printmaking.

    Luvaas has no interest in recording exactly what she sees, but rather wants to convey the impressions of what she sees, wanting to craft the mood and feeling of a scene or event.

    A New York-native currently Los Angeles-based, Ms. Luvaas has taught studio painting and mural painting workshops at prestigious universities in CA, NY and VT.

    A testament to the quality of her body of work, the Brooklyn Museum took note and made her works part of their permanent collection, celebrating women artists. As part of the Elizabeth A. sackler center for Feminist Art: Feminist Art Base, The Brooklyn Museum now presents Lucinda Luvaas' artwoks on a permanent basis.

    Ms Luvaas' artwork combines oil painting, acrylic, relief techniques, drawings, using graphite, ink pens, prismacolor pencils and oilbars, video, and photography. She has an insatiable curiosity about materials and always looks for new ways to create a unique visual interpretation of the world.
